I hope you and your family are remaining safe and healthy during this largely unpredictable and turbulent COVID-19 time.

Running the last mile till the expiration of the deadline for abstract submission in the 4th Euro-Mediterranean Conference, I would like to ask your support, as co-organizers of the Conference,

for attracting a number of interesting and diverse contributions.

Please also notice that, thanks to Chrysses and its engagement in the Mission “Climate-neutral and Smart Cities”, the 4th Euro-Mediterranean Conference on “VISIONING MED 2020+ / Mediterranean in Transition: Preserving the Past - Preparing for the Future” (http://www.smartbluecity.com/) is now supported by the European Commission and will also feature sessions on the European Green Deal and the Horizon Europe Mission on Climate-neutral and Smart Cities.

The themes of the Conference cover a broad spectrum of themes that are relevant to the Mediterranean Regions nowadays, namely:

  • ·      Theme 1: The Future of Urban and Insular Communities under CC Conditions - Smart Developments for Empowering Planning Endeavours
  • ·      Theme 2: Evolving Planning Challenges - Approaches, Tools, Technologies and Emerging Thematic Areas
  • ·      Theme 3: Smart Cultural Heritage (CH) Management
  • ·      Theme 4: MED in Transition - Strengthening Resilience to Chronic Stresses and Unexpected Events

Papers falling into these or other relevant to this Region themes, or experience gained by other parts of the world that are useful for increasing knowledge stock and broadening perspectives for handling critical challenges in the Mediterranean are very welcome in the Conference.

Important dates of the Conference:

  • ·        15 June2020: Abstract submission
  • ·         30 June 2020: Notification of acceptance to authors
  • ·         15 July 2020: Deadline for early-bird registration
  • ·    30 August 2020: Deadline for late registration

 Also the Conference will provide to participants alternative  options for participation, i.e. both Face-to-Face and online participation.
